Why the invoice price is not the cost
A container of 358 mesh invoiced at USD lands with sea freight, 5% duty on imported steel, marine insurance, port and terminal charges and cartage to Doveton on top — and the exchange rate moved between the deposit and the bill of lading. Apportioning all of it across the lines by value is what turns an invoice price into a cost you can quote against. The uplift above is the difference.
